About the author

Alex Painter graduated in Law from Oxford University in 1995, before going on to study marketing and management. His first job was in a marketing agency, after which he worked in different marketing roles in the collectibles sector, working on large-scale advertising and direct mail campaigns. From 2000 to 2008, he ran the marketing department at the Publishing Training Centre, before leaving to look after the marketing at Editorial Training. Alex still works for Editorial Training, but also takes on projects in marketing, web development and editing. He has a Diploma in Direct Marketing from the Institute of Direct Marketing, and is a Chartered Marketer and full member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
